Thanks for more awesome pics wolfganggross!
Have you ever done a how-to thread? I'm really interested in how you handle the powder. Do you pull the bullet first and dump it (I would assume so)? How is the powder kept in place in the cut open cases? Ect. |

How is the powder kept in place in the cut open cases? Ect. Thanks for the compliments. No never did a thread. It would be difficult because they are all done differently based on their construction. But I don't mind helping when asked. First, know what the bullet is first. DON'T PULL A ARGENTINE SPOTTER or anything that explodes. Been there, done that! Pull the bullet and save powder, Set off the Primer (your choice, I blow them off in old guns that I have.) Cut everything to half, either grind it away or use a Dremel tool. Glue back in with Gorilla 5 min epoxy and sand flat. Add Elmer's clear school glue to powder (very little) and place in case. When dry sand everything flat. The more parts to the bullet, the harder its going to get. Start with a basic FMJ pistol and work up from there. Blanks need to be drilled out to get the powder, if anything falls apart, Gorilla glue is your friend. I don't advise anyone to try this themselves, it would be just better to down load some of my pics than to waste your time. There's about a thousand of them. They are free. To better put into perspective, maybe 5 people in the world do this on a semi professional level. There is a reason why so little. Will let you guess at them, they will be all true! If you do need more help, please PM me and will get you my email. Would rather see someone do it right, than to loose an eye, or worse..... Kevin (wolfgang) Gross |

The powder in the far right cutaway (plastic case) looks like French flake that was loaded in 30-06,maybe others. My buddy ,Jack, and I bought MANY,MANY thousands of rounds of that stuff and broke it down, saving the bullets and powder;95% of the Berdan primers were bad.
Jack had hundreds of pounds of that powder and many thousands of the bullets. Fun times........... P.S. The powder worked well but didn't seem to have any flash suppressant. It produced a large bright flash on ignition. |

Thanks for the description. Looks like you're doing it pretty much how I envisioned it had to be done. If figured there must be a clear Elmer's glue type mixed with the powder. |

| That .30-06 blank looks more like a grenade launching cartridge...Beware firing one through an M1 with BFA, it'll blow the BFA right off the rifle and completely bugger the gas lock threads. I've watched it happen, to a guy who wanted a bigger bang at a WW2 reenactment. Moron. |
