I keep refreshing and hoping they will be in stock. I could just buy an AKV and then the kit. It might be a better option so I could keep the mag well and be able to use stick mags too. Thoughts? |

If I'm reading this correctly, it will also accept the stick magazines in addition to the large rotary magazine? |

It would require you to buy the stick mag insert to use stick mags. If you want to use both, it may be best to buy the AKV and then buy the stizon kit. I have not seen the magwell conversion for sale from PSA on their site fir the stick mags. This is all observational just from looking at pics, I have no 1st hand knowledge |

I find it a neat piece of gear, but if the option exists to use both stick mags and the rotary, why not get both? Looking forward to your range assessment. |

I'll be keeping my eyes open on PSA's site and hope they offer the magwell conversion for sale. All else fails, I'll give them a call and see if they will sell me a complete one. Having both would be optimal. |

Aside from how the HGs are attached, here's the latest iteration. Zen is going to be using different media in the future iterations (I'll let him give the specifics) Ran good, got the red dot on. Forgot my subs, so only ran with supers. No complaints except the mag is bit a PITA to insert.    |

yeah, I just hit up Josiah via PM to see if I could buy a Scorpion mag adapter that comes on the standard AK-V. I've looked and did not see them for sale on PSA's website, so fingers crossed. I would like to have at least 4 of helical mags, but stuff and things sells them for the low low price of $170 each, PSA hasn't had them in stock (at least that I've ever seen) to know what they're going to charge for them. |

PSA customer service shines again. They sent me a magwell adapter for their standard AKV so I can use stick mags too. I like the Stizon kit, but think there are some ways to make it a tad better. Either way, I may end just getting a standard AKV so I can have both, such is the arfcom tradition. Did some more shooting with it this past weekend, and the weekend before. I compared it to a KR9 for groupings. We shot at 50 yards and used cheap plinking ammo. If wanted, I can get the name of the ammo used. Either way, the KR9 didn't seem to shoot significantly any better or worse than the AKV, for what it's worth. I'll get some pics up again with the stick mags. Been fitting an Ultimak rail to it. The rail requires some fitting around the rear site block and some drilling out of the inside since the AKV bolt carrier has more gith than a standard AK gas piston. |
