| I just got a maadi stock set with the brown grip and I noticed the grip screw hole does not have a washer.Other grips like the bulgarian ones have a cupped washer. Should there be one or not? |
| probably not the answer you were looking for, but when i put my new pistol grip on, i just raided my 'bolt box' for a fastener and washers that provided a tight fit and didn't interfere with any of the inner workings. i'm not too worried about the 'correct' fasteners for parts like that. as long as it's solid, i'm happy. good luck in your search. |

My egyptian parts kit did not come with a washer. It also didnt come with the retaining nut thing for the reciever end though either. However when I recently bought a new replacement Egyptian grip for it (my original one was all scratched up really bad) the guy told me that the Egyptian maadi AK47s ones arent built with washers. I'll just go without the washer. |

There is some reinforcement metal in the bottom of Egyptian made AKM pistol grips - but you only see a bit of it when the screw is out. The Bulgarians are the only ones that I know of that used a large metal ferrule or washer on the bottom of a plastic grip. The ferrule design is similar to a Soviet wood grip ferrule. |
