I have been away from the AK stuff for more than a few years, there weren't many polymer mag options back then...I dug my old Romy build out of the safe recently and found a box(20) old steel romanian mags and a bunch of old flatback Chinese mags. I'm just gonna leave them boxed up for now...

what would be a reliable inexpensive 7.62x39 30 round polymer mag to buy a few of?

AC Unity will probably be the best bang for the buck.

The Bulgarian commercial mags sold at GunMagWarehouse have been excellent for me.  Just make sure you get the versions with the metal reinforcements in the lips and locking surfaces.

I’ve had no issues with Pmags.

This.  Sovietstocks has them as well and can sometimes be had cheaper than gmwh.

Another vote for the Bulgarian steel reinforced mags. They’re one of those “why didn’t I buy 100 of those” 10 years later magazines.

RTG has some good deals on their 20 packs of AC Unity mags.  I have tried them in Super Safety equipped AKs and a KS-47 with zero problems.
