Finally had a chance to get a new ZPAP M70 to the range yesterday. Thought there might be a problem with the trigger; This trigger has a pretty normal AK length pull but zero “wall”…. I mean zero. There’s no way to tell when the trigger will break and the rifle will fire. I found the following video on YouTube and these guys describe my rifle’s trigger exactly at 6:30 min …  Just Panic Bought A ZPAP | Was It Worth It? I guess this very light trigger feel with no wall is normal for the ZPAP M70 rifles? Owners of a ZPAP M70, is your trigger like this? |

I sent an email to Zastava USA asking about the trigger. Their response: “The factory trigger should have even travel throughout and a clean break. It shouldn't have a perceivable wall as there will be no weight of pull difference between the start and finish of the triggers cycle like there would be in a 2-stage trigger.” I’m really grateful they took the time to reply and explain how the standard M70 trigger should feel. |

A "good" normal AK trigger to me feels like a double action S&W revolver thats been shot a lot. Long continuous pull until it just goes. I'm cool with it. But I understand why some people desire a distinct 2 stage or more trigger. |

| My M70 is a single stage military style trigger. There is no wall, it’s a solid pull then bang. Some creep for certain. It would be nice if someone made a Zastava compatible alternative trigger for the M70. The Geissele ALG AK triggers use a steel that is way too hard for the Zastava bolt carrier. The carrier will mushroom with time using the ALG trigger. |

| My ALG feels the exact same in a SAM7. G2 similar in a SAR1. The original triggers in those were gritty (SAR1 had painful trigger slap as well) so I've just come to accept this and appreciate them for AK triggers while trying not to compare to an SSA-E or bolt gun. Slow trigger pulls for groups are difficult and sometimes bump but deliberate quick/steady pulls are the way to go. |
