Preferably in stock. I've been out of the AK game for a while, and I'm looking for something WASR10 quality in 7.62x39. I'm noticing a distinct lack of availability of anything other than Riley, non-WASR century AKs, and PSA. There's a guy selling a WASR in the EE that I put an offer in on but it seems as if he's ignoring me, so that's out. |
If you own M&P40 Ser. CPD1915 I will trade you a new M&P40 M2 for it. It belonged to a friend of mind who is deceased.

"Intro" is probably PSA at this point, whichever variant floats your boat. Or step up to a Zastava gun if you want an import. M70 for 7.62 or M90 for 5.56. Pretty much every other option I'd recommend like the WASR or WBP is off the market right now.

I'm kinda torn between buying a stripped AK104 GF5, or one of the Romanian PSA dong builds. I already have a spare black polymer handguard in my parts bin, as well as an ultimak rail from years back. I've heard that in theory the Romanian build won't necessarily have the long term parts wear issues the AK104 does, but I've been out of the loop for a while and some of the data regarding these two rifles is old. *EDIT* Any of you boys have an old AK FCG you don't want laying around?

Zastava has a better chance of being assembled straight than a WASR. Yugo furniture hasn't limited by choices too much for making it all tacticool. Heavy, but feels indestructible. So so accuracy from my sample of one. Ask yourself if the PSA will cut it...will you regret saving (maybe) a little money vs getting an AK from a legacy military factory? To me it would always feel a bit "Great Value" AK, but many people don't care and love them. There are legit concerns about their materials and assembly. Some may be AK snobbery, but some is legit. |
