Like the title says, I am thinking about selling off my CZ Scorpion pistol and getting an AK-V. What are the thoughts about anyone who has it? I love my Scorpion, but I like the idea of two of my rifles (pistols) being the same manual of arms. I have quite a few mags, are they compatible? Mostly CZ and Prepper Gun Shop/ETS mags. From PSA: The PSA AK-V will also accept CZ brand scorpion magazines. I have both, but haven't done a comparison. If you really like the Scorpion, I won't sell it. Try to shoot someone's AK-V first. Or save $$ and get both. Here's some mags I've used in mine.

| Just have both of them. I had the Scorpion since it pretty much was released here, so that was several years before I bought the Ak-V. I changed things on my Scorpion like the grip, charging handle, Shooting Sight trigger pack, and had to add the "pistol brace" since they came in only as pistols at that time. The AK-v was already outfitted the way I would want anyways, and they were 759 when I grabbed one. I think they are 200 more now for the same configuration. The Scorpion is definitely lighter by about 1.5lbs. |
| AKV mags work fine in my scorpion, but they don't drop free when hitting the mag release. That said, I'd keep the scorpion and get a KUSA KP9 and sbr it if you can. It's really great. I've got the Geissele ultimate AKT trigger in there and it's seriously smooth. |
| I know it’s said here a lot, but get both. I just got my AKV, had my scorpion for 6 or so years. I just keep the mags I know work in the scorpion, for the scorpion. I bought a bunch of mags for the AKV. I have a minimum mag amount for my guns so it was not a issue for me. I love both guns. No help I know. |

I have had both for a few years now and the CZ Scorpion has been a better gun. It is liter with a shorter barrel. The Scorpion is a favorite of people who I take out shooting. Now this is after I have fixed or changed the stock, trigger ,pistol grip, mag release and add rail covers. The AKV I have has been great with no flaws but the CZ is just a hair better. Try to shoot a AKV for a bit and see if you agree. Also I use a good variety of mags and they have all been compatible with my guns that use SC style mags. Maybe there is a generation that is not compatible with all AKV,ARV and CZ Scorpion but I have not found that in my experience. |
