Wife unit wanted to look for kitchen aid mixers at a pawn shop. Walked in and immediately noticed something with a banana clip on the gun rack. It was what appeared to be an unfired or at least very little handled Century M70 underfolder. It had decent rivets, finish looked great, bolt was smooth, stock locked up pretty solid and the front sight was straight. It was marked at $750 but he said it will be 10% off after the first of the month. I literally don’t need another x39 gun, but $675 seems like a great deal considering the market. M70 UF was the first AK I built. Love it. If you’re looking for a reason not to: - ammo prices suck. - Yugo furniture is not the same as reg AK pattern. - some complain about UF checkweld. - that would be a good price for today, but let’s be real, they’re not worth that $$. - it’s Century. Who knows whether that’s good Century or garbage Century. Though I’d assume it’s good (imported) not bad (built). |

If you were looking for one or something similar, Great Buy. I (myself) would not buy it based on the price alone. How often would you shoot it? Or will it just ride the safe because? How interchangeable are the parts with one of your others? |

| I would think that there may be better caliber options that might provide more speed, accuracy and power than x39 when roaming the lands of the wild, untamed beasts. If you’re hunting men in a trench, need to punch through a cinder block wall or shoot through a vehicle, then x39 is not a bad choice vs it’s near-peer 5.56. |
| OP, have you shot an underfolder like that before? I ask because years ago I was hot for one too, until I shot one. Man that was unpleasant on the face. I like AKs (though I'm down to only two because the appeal of cheap ammo is what sucked me in and now that's gone) but that one did nothing for me while shooting it. |

I'm done buying x39 rifles myself but I had one of those and remembered it being pretty solid. I kinda want to slim down my x39 stuff since I won't be able to shoot them much but I'm keeping an underfolder if I do. Wouldn't a nice underfolder AK be a good truck gun in Alaska? |

IMO you're making a mistake not buying it at that price The Century M70 UF builds were very good quality. Supposedly contracted to Two Rivers Arms, or so has been the lore for many years. They're not sending any more M70 UFs in military configuration like that. It's probably already gone |
