I have a 308 receiver and bolt, and an ARM parts kit for other bits, but I don't have a barrel. I don't have any particular version of 308 Galil in mind, and I am not a clone purist, largely due to how difficult it is to find anything 308 Galil related anymore, so I can't afford to be picky. Is there any better or less expensive option than a custom barrel blank turned down? I hope so, otherwise my wallet may spontaneously combust.  Even going that route, it is near IMPOSSIBLE to find engineering drawings or CAD files to get a gun smith or machinist pointed in the right direction. The best I have ever come across was a PDF of a 5.56 ARM barrel profile, which was probably inferred by somebody with a set of calipers and their own intuition. Any suggestions on 308 barrels guys? |

Does this mean I would need a 7.62 NATO finishing reamer or something, in order to ensure that my bolt (a TortOrt one supplied with the receiver), will close on my GO/NO-GO gauges? Fun fact: my credit cards have decided to commit seppuku and spontaneously combust while we have been discussing this.
