| I have the possibility of picking up a brand new in box 106FR. The catch is it is a ban state compliant model. I am just trying to figure out what I would be getting into with this. For starters it looks like there’s a cap over the muzzle threads. Is it just as simple as removing a weld and then being able to attach a muzzle device or is there more to it? The second thing is the stock. It has a folding stock, but the trunnion is not the one for a folder. What are my options if I wanted a different stock? Lastly what would be a fair market price for a gun like this? TIA |

If you are looking at converting it back, it’s doable, but it’s going to need to go to an AK smith. I purchased a ban state model slr105. I debated going for the ak74 or ak105 type and ended up with the 105 style. I sent it off to two river arms and had a gas block/front sight combo put on, barrel chopped and pin/welded brake to it. Shoots outstanding and just waiting on the form 1 to come back to put a normal size muzzle device on. I think they even sighted it In because this weekend it was hitting great and I didn’t need to touch the sights. Put Zenitco handguard and b-33 on last night, this rifle rocks.
