I believe a new, basic PSA AK goes for $700, unless a person gets a blemished one that knocks $100 off the price.

How much were the basic AKs they sold a few years ago? How much were they several years ago?

I don't know when PSA first started making AKs but if it was more than several years ago, how did a basic one cost then?

Just before COVID kicked off (03/16/2020)… my AK-P was $799.

Now… $949. Wouldn’t have bought one at that price.

In May of 2017,
I got a gen2 zhukov barreled receiver blem from them for $349.
I picked up the zhukov build kit for $219.
So $570 for complete gun.
I think a built zhukov from them at the time was $799 sale priced $749 a lot maybe $699.

I've been very happy with it. I've shot 1500-2k rounds through it.
The extractor broke off at around 450 rounds. Ruined a range day but PSA had it fixed and returned in 3 days.
It has been my favorite gun to shoot for the last 5 years.

Edit to add. I think the cheapest ak they sold complete at the time was sale priced at $599. But i really wanted the zhukov package.

I bought my odg 103 FN side folder for $999 about a year ago and it came with a green slide rmr cut dagger. After I sold the dagger I was into the rifle for about $680.

The prices have stayed pretty much the same.  Quality has gotten better and inflation has happened.

I got the base model PSAK gen2 with polymer furniture in 2016.  They were $700 back then in 2016 dollars.

I wanna say the AK-E was their first one that broke a grand.  It was the first with FN barrel and ALG trigger.  Mine is the AKE-S, which is a side folder and ran a little more.

The cheapest one i can remember getting was the first iteration of the build kits.   They were gen2, but the first ones to get the forged carriers. They released on trump's inauguration day.  It was maybe $550 for the whole gun once you bought the barreled receiver and the kit to complete it.  FWIW, i have a buddy who got one, too, and he still never put it together.  He's not a huge gun guy.

Agreed on inflation part, hell I could go to Wendy’s a few years ago for less than $8, now it’s always almost $15

In early 2020 just prior to the bio leak, PSA routinely put non-blem GF3's with Magpul hardware for $529

A meal for one is pushing $15 at Wendys? That's too much.

If it's $15 in NM, it must be over $20 in places like San Francisco and New York.
