Now, lets go line by line a) Canted front side block (to the left) this is NOT "cosmetic only" b) One "ear" on a front sight block is longer than another. This is not "Cosmetic only" as it affects how comfortable it is to aim c) Front sight POST is canted (shifted). This is NOT "Cosmetic only" d) Front sight POST is slanted (at the angle). This is NOT "Cosmetic only" e) Upper handguard is shifted 2-2,5mm to one side. This is NOT "Cosmetic only" as it affects comfort and handling f) Bottom Handguard is shifted 2-2.5mm to ANOTHER side. This is NOT "Cosmetic only" g) Feeding ramp looks like a spoon. Elevated front, elevated back, scooped out middle. This looks NOTHING like feeding ramp/bullet guide on Vepr, Saiga, Zpap M90 or NHM. When I showed this to a tech in a local store in Kenosha, he told me "I NEVER SEEN FEEDING RAMP LIKE THIS. I WOULD NOT FIRE THIS IF I WERE YOU". To add to this, the facebook rep on facebook said the following "Sir you purchased a blimp gun with cosmetic issues that you have not fired. You saved over $200. Send the gun back or don’t. If you want a brand new perfect gun I can get you information on where to purchase one in your area. As far as posting videos do want." So it is my fault that I saved "over $200". And he is gaslighting, implying that I want a "brand new perfect gun" - A LIE, all I asked is for this one to be replaced by ANOTHER blemished gun, except with everything being straight and with the feeding ramp. That person didn't have decency and integrity to even say his name. I also spoke to another gentleman on the phone, named Jacob. That gentleman was ABSOLUTELY honest with me and said "Send this back, we will give you a shipping label". When I asked him what will happen he said that he doesn't know, they may say that "everything is fine" and send it back, they may repair it, they may replace it or they may just refund me. He doesn't know and he doesn't make this decision. I red reviews of Pioneer arms. They were mixed. Some good ones, some bad ones. When I contacted pioneer arms they said that they are big time military supplier, that they supply military contractors, and that the guns that they sell to civilians are built to the same specs, just semi auto. I was assured that everything will be tested, that they moved to the new, forged trunions since they had problems (guns were blowing up) with the cast ones. So I bought it and I wish I NEVER dealt with those jerks. Let me just say that CENTURY ARMS took better care of me when there were problems with VZ2008 I bought from them. They IMMEDIATELY replaced the gun and no questions were asked. TAURUS took good care of me when I had problems with their 24/7 OSS. Pioneer arms as of now, insist that I send the gun back while REFUSING to tell me what they will do with it. ANd I have seen plenty of reports where the customers had issues with their guns (Blemished or not), sent them back, and Pioneer just returned the gun to them without touching it. So my STRONG advice - STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM PIONEER ARMS AS YOU CAN. They will GASLIGHT YOU, they will LIE, they will misrepresent their product (Their ad claims "all defects are COSMETIC ONLY" that is a LIE), and they will say "Send us a gun, but we won't tell you what we will do with it". While you are at it, they charged me $90 for the GROUND SHIPPING of the gun. $90!!!. After I complained they refunded me $40, so it ended up being a $50 shipping cost. Considering that vast majority of other companies charge $20-$30 for long gun shipping. So unless you are masochistic and enjoy being lied to, gaslighted, being sold the product which is MISREPRESENTED, and then have their facebook "customer service" guy act like a total jerk - by all means - go deal with them. |
| I actually took mine to the range today for the second time. Just put 50 rounds downrange, but ran flawlessly. Fit and finish is great. Rivits are solid and front sight not canted. Added a KNS gas piston just for the hell of it and once adjusted, softest smoothest firing rifle of all the 5.56 AKs I have. Ok, maybe not as smooth as my Archer/Beryl but soft as anything. Sounds like you got a bad one from the batch. It happens. Contact Pioneer and see what they say. |

I don't disagree with your disappointment, but those sort of seem like nuisance/Cosmetic issues. If you are handy they can be fixed. Canted sight blocks are kind of common on AKs - I hate it if they are extreme - but can be fixed with removing the FSB and re-drilling straight. I just did it for my Tula build (I built) and put on just a little crooked) then fixed it. A file can fix the taller ear/wing of the sight - I would align it first then check. Stocks can be shimmed. Yes a PIA if you aren't into DIY project Their version of cosmetic blem is probably different - Its not just a scuff on the finish - its how its finished with poor fitment of some parts - but functional. |

Agreed. Anything having to do with appearance, comfort and handling are cosmetic. I didn’t check the vids, never do. If you haven’t shot it to check function and accuracy, you rightfully can’t claim it as defective. You should see some of the shit I’ve cobbled together from out of spec parts over the years. They all run and they’re not about comfort and appearances, lol! |

It’s stuff like this that makes me wonder about Pioneer. Pioneer was using IO and the guns were considered trash. Pioneer then separated with IO. They opened a US location after, which the Polish owner later fired everyone. The guy who told OP to go pound sand is guaranteed to have been booted. The owner apparently destroyed a bunch of remaining guns while he was in the US. I genuinely wonder if Pioneer isn’t really trying to do better. They keep cycling out the people doing stateside assembly. They switched to forged trunnions. Klayco has had really good luck with recently made guns. If you believe the rumor mill on Facebook they’re now partnered up with Classic to run importation. That would explain why these are everywhere again. It very well could be the guy is legitimately trying to put out good guns with US operations dropping the ball. |
