Got my Yugo surplus in from Sportsman's Guide yesterday, and it's BEAUTIFUL. Fills a 50 cal ammo can nicely.
In related news, they are now showing orders of anything larger than 150 rounds as sold out. Guess the word got out!! |

I skipped the Yugo(corrosive) and ordered Lapua(non corrosive) from SOG, came out to just under $.27 per round delivered for 1,800 rnds. I tried to order some more and they are out of the boxed Lapua but are selling loose packed in bags for $7 per 30 rnds. I opted instead for the Sako boxed ammo instead, same price as the Lapua and supposed to be same quality. Great looking ammo although I had a problem with the sights, time to go to a scope so I can see.

I guess it is a trade-off. That Yugo M67, although corrosive, is supposed to tumble more rapidly than the M43 if I understand it correctly. So mine is going up for SHTF storage.
Are the Lapua and Sako boxer primed? If not, then what is the attraction over the Russian steel cased stuff? Just curious. |

The Yugo M67 is a great deal but my personal preference is for non corrosive ammo. I have shot plenty of 303, 8MM and 7.62x54r that was corrosive, i just don't like corrosive in a semi. The Lapua and Sako have been reported to be very accurate, on par with the Yugo m67, much better then the Russian steel cased ammo. They are priced so close with just a few dollars difference for 1K. There are a few reports on gunboards.com claiming 1.5 moa accuracy. For $10 I'll go with Finnish quality over wolf. Too bad it is berdan primed. Ken |
