Classic is "exclusively" selling a new stamped AK that comes from Bulgaria. They are from red star ordnance and it seems that they have the same address as Zastava USA so I assume they are tied together. I like imports but military factory one's are what I want. WBP and PSA are cool too so hopefully these are at least at that level. This would be ISD's second foray into the US AK market. Around 20 years ago, ISD of Sofia, Bulgaria, brought their SSR-85C2 into the US, selling for around $600. The SSR-85C2 was a hybrid AKM format rifle built in Kazanluk, Bulgaria, on a 1.5mm receiver, with an AK (AK47) front end (minus the bayonet "ears"), and black, plastic furniture. I picked one up from Peach State Guns of GA in 2008 for $549.95 OTD, replaced the plastic furniture with wood and replaced the FSB with a Bulgarian unit with ears. Nice gun, quality build, reasonably priced (then). My SSR-85C2. You can see the color difference between the FSB and the rest of the gun.

$900 for the barreled action and you still have to add parts and grind off that weld.  I can get a populated barreled Romanian kit for around $500 from AOA and add in an 80% receiver for $90, shipped directly to the farm. Funny, Classic still sells JRA Galils for the same $900. I predict this Bulgarian AK won’t sell well.
