Looks like AC-Unity went ahead and knocked off the Russians with AK12 and AK103 mags. (Yes, RTG has the 103 mags misnamed - the AK105 is a 5.45 gun and those are 7.62 mags.)

The 103 clone space is a little more crowded and I already have a few of PSA’s versions but I bought some of the AK12 mags.  Very excited for those ones.  You could get 10+ for what a grey market Russian mag goes for.  Always wanted one but wasn’t willing to pay the premium.  Yeah, the AC-U won’t have the glowing follower but oh well, I can live without that.

Well, looks like I will be a tester. Hopefully they show up before Red Oktober so I can be super Gucci when I go.

I grabbed a couple 105. Looks like AC Unity got the profile right.

I picked up a few of the AK-12 mags, just for grins.

I snagged 5. If they arrive in time I'll test them at the local AK match in my 5.45 Saiga and AKS-74U.

Grabbed a couple AK12 and a 103 mag, I'll definitely test them out! Of course I spent like $150 on a Russian AK12 mag earlier this year

Got my mags in today, and here are my first impressions.

Construction wise they seem sturdy, and on par with Bulgarian circle 10 mags. I have a PSA Gen 3 AK in 7.62x39 and the mags seem very stiff going in, and are very hard to remove. So I will have to work with them a bit to make them reliable on that front.

Compared to an Izzy 7.62x39 Bakelite they are very close in form. The ACU 103/105 mag is just a hair longer.

My biggest complaint is the goofy three point takedown of the mag plate. What were they thinking on this. Complicated a proven easy design.

Overall I like these mags, and will order more. Thats if I can get them seating without issue, and flawless with rounds downrange.
