Thank You for providing us with more ammo options for the AK platform first of all, but why is this ammunition Corrosive? The Russians were able to respond to market demand and produce at least mostly Non-Corrosive ammo. Some lots did slip by and it was never a good idea to believe the label, but this ammo is stated to have corrosive primers from the get go. To all the people who will say, "Just clean your gun". Well that's fine and dandy if you blast the whole case and do a full tear down afterwards. If I want to go to the range and shoot a couple mags, it still means a full tear down and scrub for me as the humid Missouri weather makes rust form almost immediately and a simple rinse and oil doesn't stop the corrosion. |

Some of this turned up on the shelf locally and judging from the headstamps it appears to be either old stock or reworked pulled down casings which would account for the corrosive primers. The headstamps were dated from the 1960s and had the three digit plant code of 343. |

They did that with East German ammo in mid '90s? I guess they had to replace the steel core bullets with lead ones. I had a box of it once just for the novelty. Came in a plain white box. Edit: It looked like this Attached File |
