So, received my plum side folder, did order some of the unissued Croatian magazines. I had to spend a few minutes with a file, marker to ID the tight spots to get them to fit and lock. Went over with Super Blue afterwards to touch up. All 4 required this. Question, although I see this has occurred with others, is it common or a "depending" thing? Curious if the other ones offered are better, same, etc? These were beyond tight at first, I have meathooks and can beat shit like a rented mule. All is good now, mainly curious if the second one posted required fitting, appear to be different manufacturers? Think I may get another AK soon, like the redwood classic premium. Is yours a Nutmeg? |

I feel like PSA maybe sizes their magwells based on US made mags like Magpul or US Palm mags, as those fit right into mine. All the foreign manufacture new mags I've used required some fitting to the front lug. Honestly, I kind of prefer having to do a little fitting so that you get a good solid lockup. My old WASR has a terrible magwell and everything in it shakes like a rattle trap.

Those Croatian mags are known for these issues. Especially the first batch A lot of fitting was required on them. The newest import batch aren’t nearly as bad but do still require some lug filing to work in most Guns. It’s not the PSA AK. it’s the mags. They are very well built mags just new production so some fitting required on most of them. |

Got a psa103 premium a while back. The PSA mag that came with it fits easily and has a small amount of side to side movement. Then I’ve got the Poly bulgarians with front/rear steel reinforced lugs. The black ones I have are an absolute perfect fit out of the package.. like literally perfect with no movement. I got a few green ones of the same manufacture.. I had to file some overmold off the front lugs to get them to fit (obviously a issue with the mag manufacture). After that they fit as well as the blacks. Here she is. It’s got a GGG 800m peep on it now for when I want to shoot without the optic (which is 90% of the time) What a difference that peep makes. Attached File |

I’ve had to file on several but not every one needed work, just most. Between, Arsenal’s, WASR’s, kit builds. For fitment. But they definitely are good mags. |
