I thought that too but i got another vz and my mags per rifle halved in the blink of an eye, it could happen to you

The time to buy is when they're cheap.
I bought one Fab Defense and one AC Unity mag just to see if the new production mags are any good. They're fine, but at under $20 a pop it's just hard to beat the surplus mags. And every surplus VZ58 mag I've ever seen is what I'd consider to be Very Good Condition so it's a safe bet they'll be in good shape.
