No it is one of my collection of AR15 mag adapters, There were five different ones made. Two of them had lock out pins to prevent accidental removal of the adapter. the one in the picture is one of those. Here are all five together. They work so well and I have so many AR mags that I don't have a big supply of Galil mags. I just keep one or two of each type for the collection. Did you have any trouble putting the M76 style handguards on you M62? It looks nice. |

hkusp, Thanks! I've always wanted one. It's a Model 76 FS or folding stock in .223 and I was lucky to find it at a price I could afford. I should warn you that the expensive part of owning a Valmet are the magazines - they run $100-150 each for 30-round factory and $60-70 for Tromix (if you can find them). Other than mine and one that sold on Gunbroker recently (with a missing part and non-factory mags) I didn't see another folder for less than $2K, but with patience and luck you could probably find another. Thank You Jim, I really love your galil, been trying to locate one myself...What are the chances the ban going away? Would that drive down some prices? i'll play. i got worked-up and decided to be a show-off... galil ARM and accessories- pretty much everything i have except more mags and uniforms. as you can see, i'm ready for the next intifada, though most of my neighbors are Indian- and already know i'm crazy. the AR will eventually be made into a SAR. at the bottom you can see the parts i have collected thus far. i need a gasblock yet. if you have one, drop me an email. otherwise i will be forced to destroy the barrel and re-work the one i have on the gun.   the ARM is an action arms. i got it in new condition, still covered in cosmo, with very light handling wear and no evidence of carbon on the piston. just no box. i swapped the handguard retainer for one with the carry-handle removed, and the flashider for the slotted military one. i missed out on a new handguard- one not cut for the carry handle- on ebay. pretty much the last part i needed to represent a late production galil as used by IDF. i hope the guy who sniped it enjoys it.  the AR started as a 16" ARM. its an 'S' model, so i have no fear of destroying it's value i look forward to returning it's israeli made parts after it becomes an SBR. too bad there is no such thing as a transferable ak conversion sear, i bet they're fun in full-auto.  someday... |
There is such a thing as a transferable AK sear, but they're all permanently installed in host guns  . I had a Valmet M78 converted to full auto by Fleming that used a registered sear.
