Hey, ever since I have owned this rifle, it has always had this gap in it right around the front trunnion area. Is this normal or something I should be concerned about? Romanian WASR-10UF built at the Cugir factory in 2018 with about 80 rounds through it.

It’s normal. The reason it’s there is that the barrel assembly is populated and then pressed into the receiver. Since the chamber depth is somewhat variable there has to be a gap to accommodate barrels that need to be pressed further into the receiver to headspace correctly.
