Have a friend who has a problem I don’t know what the interest to fix it. At first thought, I thought Possibly the rear lug needed to be filed just a little bit to make it work, but it sounds like a magazine won’t pivot due to the front of the Magwell touching the inside of the receiver and not allowing it to pivot up and lock? anybody? “I have a Hungarian SA-2000 post ban I just picked up that came with one mag which was a single stack 10 rd mag. I was wanting more mags for it and The receiver has been widen to take double stack mags but I still can’t get them to seat right in the magwell” Attached File Attached File Attached File |

A few possible things to consider: - Single or double stack bolt? For a regular mag conversion you need a double stack bolt. - Does it have the correct feed ramp? Link with more info here: LINK |

Originally Posted By ed4: The biggest problem is your first picture. Look at the magazine catch there is a spacer there bringing the catch down, you'll have to remove the rivets remove the spacer and reinstall the rivets in the magazine catch/trigger guard. Hope this helps. Good eye. |

I recently did one of these for a customer. In the end, it required a new receiver. The location of the trigger guard itself is further to the rear than a standard AK. So even after widening the magwell, removing the selector stop spacer, adjusting the selector stop plate, milling the center support spacer, etc. it still didn't work. The magazine catch itself needed to be trimmed heavily to allow it to pivot forward enough to catch the magazine, which in turn made it difficult to activate the release to remove the mag. ETA: Found the picture I took to show what I'm talking about. The receivers were butted up against a hard stop to align them.
