| No one in Austin TX???? I know we have a bunch of damn Liberal Hippies here, but this is still a Red State!! Maybe you Dallas guys can help me out. I already have a rifle, just unbanning it. 2 rifles really. I only need to press the FSB and gas block off then new ones on. |

Hello Dest, Rochester Hills Michigan I have an AK74 Polish Tantal 545x39 kit with a separate Bulgarian barrel assembly. I will need to swap over barrel parts, paint/coat/ powder coat/nickel coat metal parts, assemble, headspace etc. My automotive tools are extensive (no gunsmith tools) and include: heated 3 bay garage hbench sander air hammer compressor air brush, touch and full spray guns (no hplv though) sandblaster/case vise mig welder plasma cutter engine hoist etc too much too list I welcome any help in finishing my AK74 in the SE Michigan area. My parts orders should be in by Mid Nov 2008 ... |

I hope I am doing this right, first time posting, replying, or whatever... will learn with time. I am trying to post to AkaTom. Tom, I know you said you sold all of your build tools, but I was wondering if maybe I could pick your brain a little bit. I live in St. Clairsville, and I am very interested in building my own AK. I have read tutorials, and I believe I have a reasonable understanding, but I always learn the most from talking to someone, face to face. Maybe I could bring a case of beer and just get some info off of you? Thanks for any reply, ahead of time.
I know there are some other builders not too far off that still have tools and the such, any reply is appreciated. I have had several specific firearm questions over the last few weeks. I have been doing some homework on a number of firearms I am interested on purchasing, and firearm coatings. Forums just like this one have been a God send, and I really value all of the helpful members out there who take time out of their day to help a fellow shooter. Thanks to everyone. |

well let me just say i am about 60 miles from chattanooga towards knoxville tn. and i have learn almost everything the hard way! get the right tools or at least the bolt cutter tool. i didnt wished i had. wished i had the akbuilder tools etc...! would like to try a screw kit, but rivets seem to the official better method? if i can help i will but much more info and better waaaayyyyy better people on this site! like i said learned everything the hard way! but i have learned! also unless you are just into the build then might be better off buying one! esp. if you plan on buying all that tooloing? good luck good times and try not to give up! i may have too!
