I've never had a Galil before. I have a 13" Ace Gen 2 pistol inbound. I also ordered a KNS piston because I'm planning on running it suppressed. I'm not really sure what to expect from it. Is there anything else I should order before it arrives? I have ammo and an assortment of 7.62x39 AK mags. |

Cool. I would like to get rid of the plastic. I will likely SBR it. I just learned of the Haga Defense stock, I may try one of those. Kirby Defense is developing a lighter hand guard, I'd be interested in the weight savings. I'm kind of wishing I bought a Gen 1. It's a better looking gun imho.  Plus Irons

Love them to death. Best AK variant out there IMHO. KNS piston is a must. Even with a HUXWRX or the newer flow through cans, it helps tune the system. KNS plastic delete kit is a great touch for 922R if you plan on SBRing the gun. With regards to installing a suppressor. IWI's Galil barrel has no shoulder. You will need to use the supplied jam nut, use a muzzle device that mates up to the muzzle end of the barrel or have a gunsmith set it up for you. If you run the gun hard, consider having the flash hider pinned in place. I'd have my Surefire SOCOM FH come loose once after 2000 rounds on my 8.3" Galil ACE 7.62x39. My gunsmith fixed it up for now, but I haven't really shot it much the past year to really test it. You need ammo, a good sling set up and a red dot. Enjoy

UPS picked it up today. KNS is out of the plastic delete kit so I signed up for an email alert. I searched a little but didn't find another company that stocks it. Fun fact, I subscribed to a bunch of in stock email alerts for this gun and never received one. So if you want something, just keep running searches and don't trust the company's alert system will work. No shade intended towards KNS, I wasn't waiting on an alert from them. KNS piston has arrived and is on the gun bench. I do have a sling I'd like to use. I am hoping the Galil is delivered to my FFL on Friday. I kind of regret not getting a Gen 1 with the irons, they just look so tough.

Attached File Got it. Installed the KNS adjustable gas piston, Griffin Plan A Brake and a cheap RDS. The jam nut system is great. So much easier to time the muzzle brake compared to shims. I like the trigger and the safety. Both the grip and hand guard are very comfortable. I hope to shoot it tomorrow evening. |

I have a Gen 2 5.56 rifle and put a Burris Fastfire E on the handguard too. Occam Defense sights are good on the Gen 2 also. My Gen 1 7.62x39 rifle is the best shooting rifle I have ever had in that caliber. Now it is my only 7.62x39. I don't shoot it as much as I used to, since price and availability have hit that caliber a little hard. |

I have a set of Troy Micro HK style front irons on order. I have a decent stock of Wolf 124g HP. That ammo was averaging 2154fps out of the gun. Put on my YHM Resonator R2 and cases were ejecting about 10' with the adjustable KNS piston all the way open. I'm really liking it. Good trigger and accuracy. Front heavy for sure so a smaller and lighter can would be nice. Attached File Around 260 rounds fired and the action is still very clean. I am pleased. |

EForm 1 SBR approved in 3 days 17 hours! Sights have shipped. Installed a five position VLTOR buffer tube and a B5 SOPMOD stock I borrowed off my Dissipator. Also mounted a 1-6 to see how much I like a LPVO. Hope to get back to the range in the next few days. |
