Bought a straight back Sporter from friend who needed the money. All serial numbers match. It has a cheap, plastic stock with integrated hand grip on it and a decent wooden forest that his dad screwed a plastic pic rail to the bottom of. So, it needs new furniture and a handgrip installed. Also need to remove brake on barrel and thread it so I can mount suppressor. Any good source for furniture for it and whatever I need to install a pistol grip? |

I like the Zhukov. I put one on my 7.62X54 Vepr. I have a Red Timberwolf 3 piece stock set that would work too I suppose. Just mounted a side plate on it to accept a scope mount so maybe the Zhukov would be a better idea. I have the taps to thread the barrel, but haven't done it before and want to ensure it is concentric. Don't want baffle strikes on suppressors that cost more than the gun. I'll need to buy a guid that drops in barrel to keep it all concentric. My preference would be to tap it to 5/8X24 and install a Keymo muzzle brake as that's the standard I use. Some quick research says that the barrel wont have enough meat for that. Guess I'll tap to 14X1LH then buy keymo muzzle brake threaded for that |
