I kinda like the look of the muzzle nut and went with it to be different. I bought the rifle 3 years ago NIB for $ 280, it's a 95 with straight sites and an actual deceant black paint job for a maadi. US gas piston, G2 trigger, US follower & floorplate. Took awhile to find a lam buttstock in deceant shape, this one is a WASR take off with two coats of amber shellac to get it to be a close color match to the Egyp lower HG. |

[Bracing myself for all of the attacks I'll get for my furniture choice] I just got this Maadi MISR-10 last week for $200. It took single stack mags, so I had to add US parts in order to widen the mag well so that it could take double stack mags. The dremel work went fine and it now accepts standard double stack mags with no problems! I couldn't find any decent US made standard black or wood AK hardware locally on short notice, so at the gun show I grabbed a Tapco tele stock and Galil style handguard, as well as a US pistol grip. I had wanted a standard AK stock at first, but after checking out a tele stock I realized if fit/felt much better. I still have the original furniture (thumbhole stock and standard handguards) but the wood looked horrible. I may at some point refinish the wood and put it back on if I get enough US compliance parts internally.

| That looks 10x better than those things look on the shelf. I like the tele stocks myself. We have a Hi-cap WASR that came with the tele stock, G2 trigger and the slant brake. The only thing I had to add was a SAW pistol grip. It was on sale for $385 at Dunham's. |

Ok from the research I have done what I have here is a Maadi Misr-10 designed to accept single stack mags. Clearly these are not single stacks in the picture. I looked into the mag well and it has been opened to accept hi cap mags. My understanding is that if it original accepted single stack mags, then it had a thumbhole stock too. |

I just bought a Maadi MISR S/A from someone on the board - it was missing the FCG, springs, pins, etc. The finish was also in rough shape. I just finished working on it. I refinished the receiver & barrel etc, added a G2 FCG, US pistol grip, new springs & pins, new US handguards, US ACE folder, and it has a US slant brake. | I was in Egpyt a couple years ago, and just about every AK I saw in the hands of the police (hundreds of them) had one strange front lower handguards. They either had that Romy style donkey dong hanging down, or less commonly what looked like a smaller version of that, but with a hole I assume is for your thumb. I've never seen pictures of the ones with holes, only in person. |

We have one of these just like it at a Pawn Shop where I work. It has the Y mark and thumb hole stock and welded on barrle nut. It looks just like your rifle and they want 450.00 for it and no less, But I think thats kind of high. I dont know much about the Maddi guns at all, So is it a decent buy ? or should I pass on it ? Thank You In Advance For Any Replys, Chefgun.
