It started as a 1987 Egyptian AK47, Arabic numbers matching kit with Romanian barrel. Built on a CA legal O.O.W. receiver. I used the chemical etching template to engrave the correct selector markings. All of the metal is parkerized and coated in Brownells semi gloss Alumahyde spray can gun paint. I scratched out the arabic markings again after the park and paint job.
I couldnt decide weather to go for the battlefield pickup or fresh painted (crappy factory paint job) look- hence the worn in top cover but unscratched other parts. I'm going to wait and maybe do that to the rest of the rifle too. Not sure. This is my first AK assembly, done with the guidance of local builder.

Some Maadi AK47's
Both are 93' Maadi intrac's w/ matching numbers ...great year...(Tapco trigger group, US follower + US floor plate + US muzzle brake) 
Here is a 95' Maadi intrac and a MISRA-S/A threaded to 14LH w/ with folding stock w/ matching numbers (Tapco trigger group, US follower + US floor plate + US muzzle brake)

New to me Maadi. Great metal condition. Too bad the muzzle measures at .470, too narrow to thread. Not sure what action to take. May have it re-barreled with one of the Polish hammer forged barrels that are now coming in.

Here is my MAADI. This was my first AK that I bought when I turned 18. It's an Intrac imported ARM. I debanned it as soon as the AWB expired in 2004... back then it wasn't easy to find Egyptian parts. Over the years that I have owned it, I have collected all the appropriate trinkets for it like the blue bayonet, mags, grip, and Egyptian mag pouch and sling. This is still probably my favorite AK.

Built in 2010. Finally got around to painting it. I bought a can of Gloss Black Alumahyde years ago and went to use it today.
