| I know this has been beaten on in the past, but with Ironwood closed, is there any source of stocks now for stamped MAK90's? Gumbroker has some Chinese sets, Polytech parts has some pistol grips, but I have not seen much else. Thanks |

| I own a new PSA Spiker with the blond wood. In the past I have owned a couple of polytech Spikers. In my opinion the wood that comes on the PSA is of better quality than the Chinese version. The Chinese (Chu) wood is soft and susceptible to dents and scratches more so than the PSA which seems to be a harder wood. I'm no wood expert but that's my opinion. Some have complained about the finish PSA puts on their Spiker wood but I happen to like it. It would be simple to strip the finish and do whatever you like. I think you will be happy with the PSA Chinese copy wood. |

 that's a MAK-90 with a PSA non-spiked stock fitted to it. The stock took quite a bit of filing to get it to fit. The upper handguard and grip went on without issue. The lower hand guard was really tight and I had to remove the forward spring to close the retainer latch. I'm very happy with it. |

Update from me about the PSA “chinese” or “norinco” style stock sets: #1- they are made to fit Euro AKM receivers. Removing material that goes inside the MAK-90 receiver was expected, not a big deal. I was unhappy that the slot for the tang wasn’t deep enough, so I had to dremel that longer. Not cool, as that is visible, and now I need to refinish that area. Not sure why PSA does not know that chinese tangs are a little longer? #2- I did not use the handguard wood as they were just way too long, and I had actual chinese ones on hand. The PSA ones would have needed a LOT of fitting. #3- Coloration is not perfect compared any of my chinese wood parts, but close enough that mixing on the same gun looks OK. All in all- kind of just OK. Not terrible, not great. Cost damn near as much as a MAK-90 used to back when they were new…. |
