O.K I found an AK reciever I'd made back in 2006 in my parts boxes I stored after we closed out our gun shop.. decided to build it but had no barrel so ordered a barrel from APEX (10.5" century arms) and its sat ever since well recently APEX ended up with some front/rear trunions also Century.... no rear sight blocks though.. I have ALOT of european rear sight blocks as well as other parts that were never assembled onto AKs they were just in our inventory the rear sight block barrel hole is slightly undersized as is the hole for the polish lowe HG retainer so gonna need to turn the barrel down and add the alignment slots at each side as well for the lower HG retainer etc.. the shelf on the rear trunion where the rear sight block sits measures 24.34mm wide between the ears, the european rear sight block meansures 22mm wide.. Can someone who has a century DRACO pistol measure the width of the rear sight block I'm trying to decide if I want to go with the 1mm gap on each side or wait and see if can get a century rear sight block.... built a ton of european AKs never one using USA parts are these SAE instead of metric by chance? ETA; I'll most likely use the European one just because I have about a dozen of them... but still curious how tight the factory rear sight block fits... |
