As far as I am aware, there were 7 generations of the Micro Galil. However, determining the generations can be very difficult as there is no documentation that I am aware that outlines all changes made. In an attempt to create order in the chaos I have started a catalog of pieces and parts based off of my own Micro and any photo of a micro that I can find online. I want to say this up front though, I have no idea if this will be useful. Absolutely not idea. I am just hoping that if we catalog all pieces, then run a tally on it, we can get maybe even a rough idea on it's date? If something like this already exists or this information is useless, please let me know. Handguards:  Stocks:  Obviously there are many more things to classify. Receivers, FCG, Bolts, Carriers, Gas blocks, Front Sights, Rear Sights, Safeties, Pistol Grips, etc. I would be happy to do those classifications but before I dive too deep into this thing, I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time. I'd be interested in hearing feedback. |

Interesting, so do we know if the wire-stock shown in the last two photos were actually a factory option? I'm trying to keep this to factory components and not aftermarket. The same question goes for the flashlight handguards, were those added later or coming off the IMI line? I also didn't realize that the third model used an external stock hinge like the SAR/AR/ARM. That's interesting. Does your book outline all of the models? Perhaps I am duplicating efforts? |
