Thinking about picking up another AK, mainly interested a couple furniture-ready PSA guns: AK-104 GF3 and PSAK-47 GF5. The 104 is $650, the GF5 sidefolder is currently $700. Really want a shorty in case I suppress it in the future, but an extra $50 for the FN CHF barrel is reaaaaaally tempting. Anyone have experience with either or both of these guns? Really stuck between these two - if I go with the 104 I'll regret not getting the superior barrel, if I get the GF5 I might forever wish it was shorter. Already have a KR-103 SFS, so the 104 would be a nice change (I'd eventually SBR it), while the GF5 would be pretty similar to what I've already got. But that FN barrel sure is alluring. @palmettostatearmory why no furniture-ready GF4 or GF5 AK-104?

I love my 104. I thought about the CHF barrel also but it wasn't in stock at the time. It's fun suppressed. How it started:  Now:  And it fits in a tenor ukelele bag.

Get Both. If just one, It depends on how much shooting you plan on actually doing. If you shoot a lot and want that durability - go for the CHF bbl. I have the 104 with the Nitride barrel, I don't think I will ever wear it out between shooting several other guns. |

I have the GF4 104 with PSA's CL CHF barrel. I think he meant the dust cover when asking about the TWS rail, but I could be wrong. If so, it is not a TWS, but PSA's own railed dust cover.

Sounds like a 104 is probably the way to go for now, I can always get something else later. Might have to pick up one of those PSA/JL dust covers too. |
