If you are looking for something that is actually robust and well designed and allows for cowitness on a micro dot I’m not sure you are going to find many options. SKS wasn’t designed for red dots and less and less manufacturers are investing in making after market SKS components as they aren’t cheap or readily available anymore |

The guy that made the Tech Sights used to be active in the SKSboards forums, I asked a couple of times about the possibility of using the same mounting approach for his tech sights as a basis for an optic plate to mount something like a Holosun 407k, but no response. I could just DIY my own with grinder and welder but I'd have to learn to weld first  I always thought the Leupold Deltapoint Micro might make a useful basis for a low profile red dot sight, either directly on a bedded dust cover or mounted to the receiver like the Tech Sights  Once upon a time, MI made a mini dot mount for the SKS that sat really low, but finding one these days is pretty impossible. This probably would have been the low hanging fruit back in the day but I don't know why it was discontinued; if not zero issues, maybe lack of sales. Still, it looks right...  |
