This is kind of the way I am going with my mak90. I want to use the bulgarian front sight, gas block, and sling plate. I will be using kvar nato length stock and kvar front end. Of course I will post pics once it is done.

This is my Norinco Type 84s-1 in 5.56 NATO. Unfortunately I can't find any mags for this rifle and only have one, it's a shame since I would love to shoot this rifle more often.

Picked up a NIB MAK-90 a while back and finally got around to replacing the furniture and (unfortunately) the trigger components for 922r compliance. Now just waiting for some warm weather to give her a nice break-in!

Early Sile Norinco 56s-1 ORIGINAL dark plastic handguards, pistol grip. No Norinco star... simply says Made in China by Norinco.. Factory 66..
Similar to the attached ad from Norinco but with in the white bolt carrier. All the Norinco 56s-1 I've seen with the Norinco star came with the orangish wooden furniture. Maybe mine was the transition from Clayco to Norinco/Sile??

Picked this up about a month ago. Its was a BNIB "still in the sealed bag" 1993" MAK-90 square back. Im in the process converting it. Did everything to make it 922r. My question to everyone. What Gas block and front sight should i go with? I don't want to the spike so I'm probably just gonna do a slant brake. This is my 1st into the AK world so I'm looking for good input.

Good luck finding a Chicom gas block w/ bayo lug. You can replace with 47 pattern gas block and FSB with bayonet hooks. Add a 47 type bayonet and your GTG.

Bulgarian FSB and gas blocks will work. You can find them on gunbroker for about $25 each used surplus

I did this with a milled Mak 90 and it worked great.

Here she is after a Ironwood stock i refinished and the deban.

I'm new to this forum but figured to share my Chinese AK.  I traded my spare AR15 made from a Spikes lower and PSA M4 upper with a few magazines and ammo for this NHM91 about a month ago.

This rifle, as well as talking to my buddy who was a WASR, got me down the path of trying to figure out if our Amish friends can make stocks for AK pattern (as well as AR pattern) rifles.

Hello

So here is my Chineese AK47...
It arrived yesterday...and since I live in Germany it's of course (very unfortunately) a deactivated one! It was very cheap...119EUR! It's from 1972  56+16xxxx serial number. It also seems to have served in the Balkan wars of th early 90ties. I have googled the unit info on the sticker...but can't read it! Some Bosnian unit it seems...

https://www.google.de/search?q=110.brigada+hvo+usora&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjav8HRgtfJAhXh73IKHcAtBiQQsAQIPw&biw=1905&bih=852

Here are some pics...

The condition is ok...very used...but I like ut that way. Today I took it apart and threw all metal in the dish washer, while the wife was gone shopping ;-)  Now all the metal is super clean! The sticker was removed and the wood will reveive a treatment of oven cleaner, steel wool and oil...should come out presentable.

Comments welcome...

thanks
Uwe
