If anyone missed out when Arms of America briefly had them available, it seems Global Ordnance has the AC-Unity 45-rd quad stacks for 5.56 AKs back in the country for just under $16 a pop. (They were more like $35 each when AoA had them!) Well, more than "seems", I bought three and they showed up.  https://globalordnance.com/ac-unity-ak556-magazine-5-56x45mm-45-rds-black/ GO was super slow in shipping and my CC got compromised two days after, though I did a couple other purchases that day online so I can't solely point the finger at them. The mags are real though! Attached File (None of the 60-rd version listed yet though, that's just a tease) I did some digging why they disappeared from AoA so quickly in 2003 and it was a C&D order claiming patent infringement originating from a company that's not Magpul. Dunno if GO is big enough that they don't care, they just have better lawyers than the other company, not a valid patent due to prior art, or AC-U licensed the patent though for $16 I doubt that. Magpul's patent doesn't expire until 2029 but the designs are pretty different. I actually can't find a patent for any other four-stack magazine aside from the Magpul. | I got 3, I've been using them with my psa krink with mixed steel case 55gr and I've only had 6 malfunctions out of 800ish rounds. Mostly failure to go into battery one failure to eject. My krink is not overgassed. If anything it's a touch undergassed, so with weaker steel case, and the very stiff mag springs I think that's where the failures come from. Hopefully I'll be able to get out to a class/comp with them and see how they fare being thrown in the dirt. |

Did I miss something with Global Ordinance? They had a bunch of 5.56 ac unity options for great prices and now I don’t see AC Unity in the filter options, or when I enter the name in the search bar. Maybe they were blowing them out, that’s why they were so cheap? I think PSA has the 45 rounders, but I still have yet to see the 60 rounders in stock or even listed on a website. |
