Just wondering if anyone out there has put a new trigger or handguard on the AK 556.

I'm am curious to find out if standard stamped AK handguards and trigger will fit.

I installed a Kvar FCG and Magpul handguard. Both needed to be modified to fit. The back of the hammer needed to be reshaped and the back of the Magpul needed to be cut to fit.

I plan on using TDI aluminum handguards. I hate to grind o the aluminum, but it wouldn't be the first time.

I wonder if a handguard for a milled ak would fit better since the receiver is thicker?

If im not mistaken, the AK556 from PSA is closer to an RPK in dimensions. RPK furniture may fit better
