Any chance the inexpensive AC Unity 5.56 AK mags will work well in a Norinco (or Polytech) .223/5.56? |

the biggest issue with converting other mags for a Chinese .223 is the chinese mags have more material at the front of the mag opening , this is by design to have the round ride up on it to help orientate the round to the chamber , the chinese .223 rifles were basically a rework of their type 56 rifles , and not worked off the AKM plans because of the falling out between Russia and china they were never provided with the AKM plans at the time these were produced or reverse engineered yet AKM rifles do not have that extra height at the opening of their mags because they have guides that do this , so when you try and get a AKM mag to feed in a chinese .223 rifle the bolt strips the round and will drive it low into the chamber so lets say the bullet pushes into the casing by being forced into the chamber because the feed angle is off due to the mag opening being too low , but still manages to load , that bullet pushed in will create more pressure than its supposed to , the deeper its pushed in the more pressure is created, can cause a very sketchy situation you will not be aware of because it fed instead of hanging up , so playing stupid games , win stupid prizes applies   |
