Value as it is- $800-900 tops.I wouldnt pay more than $800 for it myself Run away from this deal. For $1800 you can get a Polytech spiker preban or a nice preban Norinco underfolder with money left over for ammo/mags |

I'd love to get $2500 :) [even $1600 would be great]. Last Valmet on EE that I remember was only something like $1400 -- which is what some not-so-rare Russian/Arsenal/etc. are being estimated. Don't remember what model the Valmet on EE was [76 or 71] which also makes a difference. Unfortunately I sold the factory 30s during last panic, now only factory 15, Tromix 30s, and MCP/LIQ 40s.

Unless you just have to have that furniture i would get a Saiga that has had the conversion done foe a lot less, then add what you want to it If you look you can find one for less than $600 already partially converted.$800 seems a bit high for that one unless you just want that style,then go for it Here is a random one i found for $579 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=517056307 If you were going to pay $800 i would just put another $100-125 on top of the $800 and get a Arsenal 107FR which is light years ahead of a converted Saiga and will hold a nice resale value.Just my opinion |

This is the gun I really wanted, and is the best looking AK I have ever seen by far, just more than I want to spend, but I am thinking about just doing it. You can get that colored lettering by using a paint pen or a crayon,it looks nice but it doesnt add any value at all to it. The one for $600 is a decent deal.You just have to understand that these come in as unconverted and the dealer pays less than $500 for these more like $400 and add thing to them and jacks up the price. The Saiga rifle is a very good rifle, it will shoot just as good as an Arsenal or any other AK. I actually found someone local that will match the price on the Saiga, 800.00 cash, so I could actually look at the gun at his shop and make sure it isn't loose, damaged, bent sight, etc.. The Ironwood slant stocks work great. If you buy it i would just get the rear stock and pistol grip and match the color to the HG's Here is a pic of a slant cut Mak 90 i did using the Ironwood rear stock.I bleached the Chinese grip and HG's then color matched the set.The rear stock will need to be lightly sanded to fit,very easy though Matt over at Ironwood liked so much he asked if he could use it on his website.I went with a light blonde colored look

My LGS had a used CAI AK pistol for sale for $319. The outside of the rifle looks a little worse for wear. The hand guards are all beat up and there are numerous scratches.
Is this price decent for one? Besides the beat up furniture is there anything I could look for to see if the internals were all good? They don't have a range there so I cant fire it. Anything else I should consider? |

Century Century tantals were known to have keyholing issues because they used improper barrels. You may get lucky and not have these issues but I personally would stay away. If you have to have it I would pay no more than $400-450 just in case you have to get it rebarreled. |

I would ask $750-800 might get more on gunbroker. Sweet, I put it up on armslist for $750 yesterday... Nothing but trade offers and low balls so far. Might just keep it, but I have my eyes in another VEPR in 7.62x39. |
