Made from 100% American materials, we combined our high performance multi-hit capable Alumina Oxide strike face with a lightweight Dyneema UHMWPE backer to create affordable and also lightweight level 4 plates.

RMA 1165 Lightweight Level 4 plates are the ultimate expression of our mission; to make the world''s best body armor available for all Americans. Typically, manufacturers save weight by using lighter weight ceramics like silicon and also boron. We also do that. But it comes at a cost. Our 1192 series is a fantastic lightweight level 4 plate, but is more on the expensive side. Boron/Silicon carbide is more expensive to make, and thus ultimately results in a more expensive plate.

This high strength material works as a lightweight backer to our famous RMA alumina Level 4 strike face. While this requires a bit more labor and machine time, it also cuts about 1.5 lbs from the weight of our best-selling 1155 plate.
