I ordered an ACS from this Tactical Empire on gunbroker a couple of months back. For 85 bucks I figured what a great deal. Boy was I wrong. The item seemed ok, until I put it next to my real ACS from magpul. The plastic was too smooth and toy like. It doesn't have that Magpul burnt plastic smell I'm so used to, it smells like a toy. The screws on the back did not have magpul stamped on them. The spring in the locking lever made a crushing sound. It seemed like a PTS, but this seller is selling all of this stuff as legit. He was really fast to refund my money to keep me quiet I guess. He took the stuff off for a few weeks but is back up selling again. Fake Products FAKE ACS FOR SALE His mbus's don't come in a box because he supposedly gets them from a surplus dealer, surplus dealer?? Airsoft Dealer maybe... Funny thing is he has good feedback because folks don't seem to know they are getting ripped off.
At first it seemed pretty legit. well the paperwork did. Mold seems pretty close but plastic is all wrong. Fit and finish are not Magpul By a mile. |

And yet, they are most certainly emotionally retarded. Minion of Snow #006 |

That stock is made by Element ...I bought one last year and a Airsoft bud pointed it out....that is a real butt plate though
the fake one does not sit flush on the clone ACS. ....AND will only fit on comm tubes |

the butt plate material felt like a softer rubber than the normal Magpul, it was not magpul either. And the screws on the back were just plan hex without Magpul stamped in them. It could be a ACM ACM ACS you never know.

Definitely ACM but those were not designed to be sold as ACM Airsoft pieces, they were designed to be sold as counterfeits.
Several Hong Kong dealers are offering these types of items with full retail packaging that is designed to look like the real thing. This stuff isn't even as good as the licensed Magpul PTS stuff. |

Didn't see an area on gunbroker to report him. People are still buying his fakes.

Homeland Security and ICE have been shutting down web sites that sell or allow the sale of counterfeit goods.
Perhaps magpul and anyone affected should be reporting such things. http://www.iprcenter.gov/referral/ Especially since gun safety is involved. I purchased some counterfeit Western Digital hard drives. When I threatened to report the seller's web site there, they were very cooperative. |

I will try and find a good contact. The more a company gets involved the more Customs and Border Protection looks for the fakes coming in. Theses aren't copies.... these are blatant counterfeit items. I will see what I can find out.

Deal Extreme is a bigger online site that sells Magpul, EOTech, Aimpoint etc etc fakes
They make no claim these are real items. Some of the items are vastly improved over their initial fake products. While i do GB I simply will not buy a Magpul product from anyone but a reputable dealer like Midway and Hamlund (Where most of my recent Magpul stuff has been purchased) I have also bought from AIM but I am leery of little know newer dealers. I do the local gun show as a hobby (one table) and there is a guy that has all the Chinese fakes cheap, as good as online prices. He is upfront about their origin and when someone has asked him if something is a real Magpul he states no it is not it is a copy. Fact is they do not fit and feel like a Magpul and when you know a real one it is harder to fool a person. They have gotten better and some people need a real one side by side to see a difference. To me the biggest difference is when you mount a stock. Does not fit and slide the same. I have 7 ARs and each of them are equipped front to back with Magpul so they all have the same feel and that compatibility makes for better familiarity from gun to gun. I also decided to sell off a few guns and made my magazine standard Pmags fit the gun or I don't own it. Then I picked up an extra 100 Pmags so I am committed now Now some may think that makes me a fanboy but in truth I use Mapul stuff because it works better than any of the other stuff and because they have a complete line that allows every part of my weapons to be consistent. I also use all Geissele triggers and EOTechs but those too are for purely selfish reasons. Sell me something that works better than other brands and build it right at a fair price and I am there. My 7 ARs are all very different guns but every one has a Magpul stock, vertical grip and pistol grip in the same positions. I even pulled the Miad grip from the Sig716 and put on a Moe grip so it remained the same feel as the 5.56 guns Wulfmann |

Yep I got hit with mbus
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1432101_.html&page=1&anc=38174765#i38174765 I decided it was time to swap up the color combo on my rifles from black with fde furniture to fde receiver and rails with black furniture. So I ran across these mbus sites on gunbroker. I bought two and called the guy to give my CC#, I even asked him if they were the real mbus and not the PTS before giving my number. He says "yes, these are the real mbus" Well they came in today and they are not real. I'm not sure if they are PTS because I have a $10 pts set on an airsoft that I knew were fake. They have a set screw for the front sight detent and feel cheap as shit. Well these were sold as real and I guess I should have known with the price ($54.99/set) Here is a set against my fde ones. FDE - Real mbus Black - Fake mbus Notice the difference in the screw heads how the cheap one is flared on the ends and is more shiny, also the pins are different. The adjusting screw on the real has a hole in it Look at the casting marks, and the fake doesn't have the centerline on the ghost ring. The detent and the post on the fake is made of plastic. Original ad here- http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=327658947 This guy has like 272 A+ feedback too. |

So far we have Taboot in first, with NorCal and 23pistol23 tied for second. This shit is the reason I paid for a membership. -bowbender7 |

There is a guy in the DFW area that sells fake Magpul stocks and sights. 2 guys actually. They are usually at the gun shows around here, not sure if they sell online or what.
One guy sells all kinds of airsoft shit and toys so he sticks out like a sore thumb. Other guy sells tannerite and accessories. He sells fake Troy sights as well. I saw one poor bastard buy the fake Troy sights before I realized what they were. He was charging $100 for front and rear "Troy" sights. After he bought them, I started looking at them and immediately could tell they were fake. Tried to find the guy in the show to tell him he had been had but I couldn't find him |
