Yes and intentionally in intermediate and advanced classes insofar as the "fire" command is concerned but it is always mentioned prior to the exercise. It tests the student in terms of whether their head is in the game.

FWIW, I don't think it is appropriate for an entry level class because novice students will have enough on their minds and changing range commands in an ad hoc manner could cause safety issues.
