Hey guys,
I'm thinking about starting into steel challenge/IPSC/IDPA competitions.  Not serious mind you just something fun to do on the weekends, I have a 1911(single stack) chambered in 9mm and it runs well enough for competition.  One thing I am concerned about is the front sight, it has a orange fiber optic front sight that came stock on the pistol.  I'm concerned a hard or quick draw might destroy the sight rendering my pistol temporarily out of commission.  I'm looking for your recommendations on a 1911 (standard size) pistol holster that will suit me fine in these pistol competitions.  Mag holder recommendations would be nice as well.  Looking forward to shooting these matches.

Bladtech Stingray (or equiv).  Just about all modern holsters have a sight tunnel, you run a higher risk of shearing off your front sight thru a port than from a holster draw.
