An investigation by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) linked tens of thousands of shipments to New York addresses to these businesses dating back to 2017. Undercover OAG and New York City investigators were recently able to purchase unfinished frames online from three distributors, who shipped them into New York without serial numbers or a background check. Based on the weight and size of the packages sent to the undercover investigators, OAG has reason to believe tens of thousands of shipments sent by these businesses contain unfinished frames and receivers. Local, state, and federal laws prohibit the sale of unfinished frames and receivers.

They were giving approximate shipment numbers earlier, now they're just going by weight and size of packages?  Nice.  Is there anyone who can call them out on lying in their press releases?  Before NY passed the state law prohibiting 80% lowers, what part of state and federal law made any of that activity illegal?  And why date back to 2017?  It wasn't illegal in 2017, 18, 19, 20, and some of 21...

It's simple: the criminals and those wanting a gun but might not be able to because of the draconian Permit system clearly said fuck NYS and their Laws. (imagine that) and ordered completely Legal DIY kits to try their hand at making a Firearm.  NYC is loosing control, they know it, and can't stand the facts that their communistic/progressive "reforms" are an epic failure.
I'm not sure how their mathematics gymnastics derived a "181 percent increase..." but it thousands have been sold into NYC and they've only recovered a few hundred over the last three years is there really an epidemic or is it exacerbating grandstanding?

The NY Senate identified the majority source of the gun crime and we ain't it, yet WE'RE the ones being persecuted.

They're claiming that ATF guidance is wrong and 80%s have always been illegal by federal law because they are 'readily convertible' to functional firearms.

Nonsense but any given liberal judge may say 'yep, sounds right to me'
