Darn teens! Probably arguing about who gets to sit next to whom in Calculus this year. |

Photo of victim, well yep.........big surprise. Go figure.
Nobody see nuffin. |

Those that patrol the rough parts of the city of Syracuse get a bit of a "working vacation" this time of year. Every night, the goblins move to the Midway for their tomfoolery.

Normally we would head back to Long Island from Skaneateles Lake before the fair started due to school starting (father was a college professor and we kids had to go back to school too). But in the early 1970's, there was a period where Labor Day was later and we were able to stay until the very end of August and go to the fair. My father was from Syracuse and he went to the fair as a youngster. He always pointed out the giant corn cob which may or may not be there any longer. |

Went yesterday. Had a trooper ask me to put my pocket knife in my bag after walking around the fair for ten hours with it.
I realize a 6' 250# tattooed white boy with two small kids looks like he is going to just stab someone and all, but...lol |

I've been to lots of events at the Fair Grounds, but never the State Fair itself.....just like the rest of the State, it's dirty, run-down, and well worn, in desperate need of re-something....some representation of "The Empire State"

Keep the G Code. One of those three gentlemen (and I use that term loosely) will be involved in a homicide before 2015 is over.

I'd like to think the lads did something stupid on the Midway and ran afoul of some irate carnies.

I was at the Fair that night for the Gaffigan show, the quantity and quality of the abnoxious drunks was such that I would've been surprised if there wasn't a stabbing.
It literally took 45 minutes from the entry gate to get to the grandstands through a sea of aforementioned drunk abnoxious people, then 45 minutes to get back out after. Mostly because my girlfriend is too timid to push through the crowd, but that's a different story. |

I explained to her how she could never go to a gun show. |

Because the only reason they wouldn't know how many is that some of the people that got stabbed don't want to talk about it and didn't stick around. |

The last time I went, I got a sausage sandwich and a soda right after I got there and paid like $12 or $13. It's just not worth it. Maybe when I have kids I'll take them. ETA: Although the Fair is probably worth it for the people watching, now that I think about it. You know you'll be able to punch that "Pregnant 14 year old smoking a cigarette" square on your State Fair Bingo card within the first 5 minutes. |

No need to reward the state with even more of my money. Pass.

I did send Bud Poliquin a tweet after he wrote something totally retarded about MMA coming to NYS but he didn't respond to it. He asked people to explain to him why cock fighting is illegal but MMA should be legal. I tweeted him that the chickens don't choose to fight but MMA fighters do. I guess he didn't have a comeback. |

I wandered around the fair yesterday
Figures that the one day I could manage to go was Womens fair day salt n pepa and another rap act were the free shows at the court I had to find the furthest builds away to hide from that noise while they were "performing" Then I had to endure the bus ride back to the parking area listening to morons ranting bout what a great show they put on. |

Amateur MMA is legal - you can fight for free. It's just illegal to make it professional and create a job. Open for Business. The real reason it isn't legal is that Zuffas Casinos aren't Union and the Union lobbied the correct politicians to ban it until Zuffa greases the right palms. |
