You can get a NY legal WASR 10 for around $500 or $600 I imagine. I see them in gun shops from time to time and they often turn up at gun shows.

Legally you can have the same stuff as your AR (Talking post-ban). You can't have a collapsible or folding stock, bayonet lug, or flash hider. Preban mags are all over the place and not hard to find. I'd suggest, like the others, to get a Saiga AK and convert it to a pistol grip.
