I'll probably be there early Saturday with my younger brother (SWATsnip3r) looking for some reasonable deals.

Depending on what day the others are going, we will gather at noon to head out to a Tully's restaurant to shoot the shit and eat some food.

I'll be wearing an Arfcom shirt for easy ID.

We'll be there...I'm not bringing too much of my own, but the gunshop folks will have plenty.  Lunch at Tully's, meet at noon back by the Hotdog stand: ARFcom shirts a plus, please no mix-matched cammo wanna be's  (unless you're carrying a Jennings in a drop-leg holster.

Gunwolf got some of my stuff in rochester. Didn't pick up anything there, blew the funds on the way home.  I'll be inline waiting for doors with the state check that came in the mail today. Timing is everything.

I'd certainly welcome you....dont ask, don't tell? A bit supriseing that the rules are covered universally, or are they? It's a tough call decideing who's worthy to CC and who's not.

Everybody should keep in mind if you have to drive through the city on 690, there's some road construction going on near Hiawatha BLVD (the road that connects 690 to Carousel Mall.)

They have a portion of 690 West closed and rerouted over to 690 East and the lanes are all narrowed.  That continues until you get near the off ramp at State Fair BLVD where everything moves back to normal.

It's a real pain during the rat-race commute, but I think it should be okay Saturday morning.  FYI.

Driving past Syracuse this weekend and will try to stop.  Based on the posts it looks like I take 690 off the thruway until I get to the fairgrounds exit.  Is that correct.  Can someone give me directions.

thanks
Brett

If you are coming via the Thruway, you'll want to get off at exit 39, I believe.  From there, take 690 to the fairgrounds, and follow the signs.  Once you're on 690, it takes you straight to the fairgrounds.

As you approach the fairgrounds, move over to the right hand lane, which is an exit lane, and get off 690.  Keep in mind that the exit lane you need to be in merges into 690 from Route 695 shortly before the exit.  Get over to the far right as soon as 695 merges, after you pass under the overpasses.

The police and some volunteers will be directing traffic, and follow the other cars to the parking areas near the Verizon Center of Progress building.

ETA: Hope you can make it!

Thanks Thirsty,

I'm in Buffalo cleaning out my rental property which sells on Thursday (if my goofy tenants don't burn it down first).  Might end up staying both days this weekend at catching the show on my way back down state Sunday.  I'll certainly try to make it.

Thanks again,
Brett

I saw EdAvilaSr there. Didn't want to interrupt him because it sounded like he was debating someone about an AR-15

10 of us made lunch today. A good time was hopefully had by all. Always nice to see old friends and meet new ones.

The show was quite crowded when we left at noon. Prices are creeping up on preban guns. Not too many bargins, some OK, such as a 20" Bushie vmatch with a cheapie scope for $850.

One vendor had a pretty extensive ACOG selection. $$$

Ammo? Eek. $$$$ Wolf was $199+tax/K for .223, Privi Part 5.56 was ~$280/K +tax. South African .308 was in the 60-65/battlepack range. I also saw a few 300rd battlepacks of 5.56 S. African for $90/BP. Wolf 7.62x49 was $150/K...

I need to get an ARFCOM t-shirt so people know who I am.  I was there for a couple hours but had to be somewhere else.  I am going back tomorrow.

It was my first gunshow experience.  I have to say that the prices were not impressive.  I did see a couple good deals and a few fair deals.

Anyone else going tomorrow?

what was up with the wasr-10 marked as preban??

there was some cool shit though.
the mg42 corner-shooter was awesome!

I only managed to snag a couple mags for my .223 ak and one of those .308 enfields.

all in all not a bad show... ammo was high-ish, but not as universally bad as it has been in the past few shows.

~ 5 miles from SU in the Verizon Building of the State Fairground Campus.

Ammo: HOLY SCHITT it's gotten expensive! Many of the Distributers are out, so if you find it and can pay for it, buy it!   Remember my post from a year ago? If you do, and didn't buy, you're crying now.

Didn't get to see very much of the show...for a while we were selling guns like folks at the Burger King counter!  I swear we sold at least ten handguns today, never seen anything like it.

Good deal: Remington 700ADL, 7mm Mag. in 99% condition for $425.....did I mention that it had a 99% Ziess Conquest scope set in Leupold rings/mounts.

Gonna look for some "Cowboy" guns tomorrow....maby give it a go.

Sorry to miss lunch. As much as I would have liked to go, I cannot turn my back on a friend when things are as hetic as they were, especially with eight tables on two sides.

I think it was Hammond that had that. I almost asked him if he takes credit cards, or would let me put a down payment on it and meet him at his store later in the week. But I can't be spending any money buying more guns right now
those M44s were nice too, but I already have one

Wonder if it was the one I got for $275??
JUST KIDDING. $325 would have been a good one.

16 hrs of show and all I bought was a Norinco SKS for $110. There were more guys carrying the "teasers" around, looking for parts and accessories and not for sale than I have ever seen in the past.
AMMO is outta sight, IT IS GOING TO GET WORSE.
Another show with alot of VERY happy vendors.

Sorry I missed everyone at the lunch, I did catch Greg (screen name?) while I was walking over to a friend that needed help buying AR parts, but missed meeting everyone at lunch. All in all the show was ok, I've been trying to find a Springfield M6 Scout (trappers/survival rifle) but have had no success at either the Rochester or Syracuse shows. If anyone knows of one for sale, IM me. I did buy a Glock field knife, AR mags for a buddy that could not make the show and I found a cool vintage Crossman 760 powermaster BB/pellet gun with wood furniture for my 71/2 month old son. Yeah it will be a while before he is big enough, but at 15 dollars I could not resist. Plus, it was the exact same model I had as a kid. I hope to meet some of you NY people one of these days. Maybe at the fall show or a shoot this summer...
