I don't get this... Apparently two of the larger states in the US are arbitrarily lumped togther on the home town forum. I imagine this is a reflection of the fact that the larger centers in NJ and NY are basically across the river from each other down in the NYC area. However, NJ is about as relevant as, say, Alaska or Arizona for every NY'er north of the Tappanzee Bridge, and I suspect that NJ residents really do not have much interest in whatever happens in Albany, Buffalo, or the Adirondack Park.

Given that much of the usual hometown forum stuff is legal (and therefor State dependent) can we get separate NJ and NY hometown forums?

A combined NY & NJ hometown board makes about as much sense as a San diego/Tijuana or maybe a NY/CT board.......

This topic comes up every once in a while.

My opinion, FWIW, is that I like having the combined board. I've had opportunities to meet many of the "NY crew". They are a great group. We all get along fairly well with the current set up. I don't see a need to change.

It's easier to harass the NJ crew about their sucky gun laws. Of course that will all change when Spitzer moves into the NY Governors mansion in 2007. Then they can exact their revenge on us.

Yeah, we have sucky gun laws, but we have the BETTER gun ranges.

How it happened in the first place is one of the mysteries of the Goat Universe... Whatever the reason, I think this crew has been awesome and really does well together. Also, the shoots/events benefit from a larger audience and people do cross the state line to attend them.

We like each other and when we have get-togethers we want the other crew to know about it....since they are sooooo close to each other.

The New York forum has gone down hill since the last NJ insurrection that resulted in spelling out "New Jersey" in the title.

The forum also hasn't been the same since Helldog was promoted to the level of his incompetence. He was supposed to ban me months ago but the old guy has even forgot about that.
