Just putting the feelers out.......anyone in the NY area interested in Federal XM193 for $200 per 1,000 rounds?   I dont want to get into shipping so it will have to be a FTF thing in the New York City area.............  I want to see just how many people are interested in this discounted price before I go out and buy this stuff.

I'd get a case, so long as it is legal for me to pick it up in your area. I'm right near NYC in northern New Jersey, but don't know about any NYC laws about ammo transport.

Ok, Im getting quite a few emails about this...... Like the first post says, I came across this ammo through a friend and I thought it was a pretty good price so I bought myself 5,000 rounds.  I want to go back and pick up 25,000 rounds or so and I just dont want to get stuck with too much ammo  (like that could ever happen, hehe) so I want to know if anyone wants me to pick some up.  Please dont post if youre not serious about picking it up.  Money is tight and I already stocked up for myself today.

Ask your friends and tell me how much you want and I will hopefully make a trip this week to pick it all up, as long as he still has it in stock.  Once I get it, we can arrange to meet somewhere in Queens/Nassau and do a Face to face.  Five years ago someone hooked me up with PMP Soutrh African (LOTS OF IT!!!) at a great price( ThANKS JOHN!!) and now I want to do the same.  I just want to keep this simple so I dont want to start shipping.....I want to keep it local.

Not really a group buy.  Im not collecting money from anyone.

I found a spot with a great price on the xm193 ammo.  Only problem is that its 3 1/2 hours away.  I am going to go buy myself 25,000 rounds of ammo or so, and share this great price with locals.  Its not a business thing, Im not going to get into shipping all over the country because Im making just enough money back to pay for gas and tolls and lunch.  If I have to ship, its not worth it, no  one will be saving any money, and Im not going to make 20 trips to the post office.

Five years ago, a member of this board bought ammo in bulk and shared it with everyone at the price that he got it for.  I bought about ten thousand rounds face to face and I am finally all out of it.  Im trying to do the same for the Hometown locals.  I already drove out there this week and bought myself 5,000 rounds, what Im doing is trying to hook the locals up with the same deal that I got.

The reason that it is posted on the hometown board is that it is a favor for the hometown locals ONLY.  This isnt a business thing. Im not making any money.  I get to make a 7 hour round trip drive to pick up ammo for people.  Again, this is NOT a group buy, I am collecting nothing.  What I dont want to do is get stuck with 20,000  rounds of ammo.  Im laying out a few thousand dollars here, and I dont need to get stuck with 20,000 rounds (more) ammo.

Is it boxed 20 rounds to a box or loose/bulk packed in 500 round boxes? What is the year of manufacture?

Yes, boxed 20 rounds to a box, 500 to a case.  Where do I find the year of manufacture?

On the head stamp. S/B 00, 01, 02, 03 etc. There should also be a purple stain/seal around the primer. If you pull a bullet there should also be sealant around the bullet.

There is already one active group buy, with another trying to get organized as well.

Where is the info for that one also?

I am only reloading for high power so I am looking to buy Surplus 55 or 62 gr stuff.

Oh well, no easy way to put this.....

No ammo available.  I cant believe it.  I picked up ammo on Thursday night, and by Monday morning, it was all gone.  I called when the place opened Monday morning, and apparantly, someone cleaned him out on Saturday, OVER 100,000 rounds!!!!  I didnt post earlier because he said he could get some more in this week, but then he called me back and said no more available anywhere.  Federal isnt even shipping to its wholesalers anymore.

I want to apologize for getting everyones hopes up.  However I did write down the amounts and I will stay in touch with the dealer.  When it becomes available, I wil still make the ammo run for anyone who still wants it.  Again, sorry!!

Hunduh

By the way, if the guy who bought 100,000 rounds of ammo is reading this, I have a big FU for you!!!.....oh yeah and can I come over and play???

Just to let you know that www.sportsmanguide.com has Federal Lake City 223 62gr FMJ 1,000 rnds for a price of $189.97. If you are a member you get some money off plus you could spread it out into 4 payments.

I ordered 2 ,000 rounds to hold me over for about the next month.

The XM855PD is OKAY.  It is the XM193PD which you have to sort through.

I'm not sure if that is completely accurate as there have been reports that some lots of XM855PD have the same defects   which were reported for XM193PD. In any case the PD ammo is grade "C" ammo and is being sold as military "overruns" which it is not. It is rejected ammunition which is unsuitable for sale to the military. There are numerous threads in the Ammunition Forum and in the archives on PD ammo.

I have 2 500 round boxes of XM193 that I would like to sell. $115 each. You can pick them up in the South Brunswick area, or I can bring them to the NJ Blast. I posted this here, as I dont want to ship these and thought I would offer them to NJ members.

Hey..I just realized that I was asking too much for this ammo. Ill do $100 a box if anyone is interested. I hear they are $95 at the gun show, but it will cost you at least $5 to get into the show, plus gas. If anyone is intersted, IM or e-mail me...

I put 100 rounds in a C-MAg which I just bought.  So far the stuff  shot yesterday went BANG......I looked through it and don't see any defects. WHat is suppose to be the problem.

This is the Lake City 62gr green tip.....Is that the stuff which is suppose to be Crap?

From personal knowledge with my own two beady little eyes improperly seated bullets, dented cases and split necks on some rounds. You just need to carefully inspect each case.

Others have reported squib and FTF loads as well but I cannot comment on that issue. Primer pockets and bullets may not be sealed properly. This is only an issue for stored SHTF ammo. I would not use this ammo for that purpose.

See what Troy has to say in the Ammo Forum about PD ammo: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=16&t=241144

I would still check the XM855PD.  I culled around 18 rds with dented brass.  I also had 7 rds with improperly seated bullets.  When I really get bored, I will weigh a bunch, put the calipers to them and see if there are any variances.  I paid $165 for my box 4 months ago.

I have seen this ammo either reboxed or the "For Training Use Only" either obscured or cut away from the box.
