Ham Radio Operators Ease Disaster Communications

Lancaster, NY (WBEN) - Local ham radio operators are offering to help you get in touch with family and friends in the Katrina disaster zone.

If you'd like to utilize the service to try to reach someone in Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama, you can call the Lancaster Office of Emergency Management at 683-6363 with a message of no more than 20-words, and it will be relayed between 6pm and 8pm.
