There will be a Garand match at the Peconic River Sportsmans Club [N. of Exit 69, LIE] this
Sunday. Bring out your old war horses and shoot at 200 yards. Fee is $35 to shoot the match and for that you get ball ammo and a tee-shirt. You also qualify to purchase an M1 from the CMP. 07:00 a.m. sign up time. www.nyhighpower.com/garandmatch2004.html You can borrow an M1 or bring any military bolt gun (with your own ammo!) you wish. .30 M2 ball available for purchase and probably .30 carbine ammo also. The bulletin says "other rifles may shoot for score" so yes, but you won't be eligable for awards.
Bring at least two mags. plus ammo, no AP ammo. Also a sling or you can borrow a web-sling. |
