A-10s over Capital District?

[ARCHIVED THREAD] - A-10s over Capital District?

Anyone else catch that? my housemate and I were driving home at about 205pm and 2 gray A-10s were banking over head. made my day! sadly it was all we saw of them. anyone else get as lucky as we did?

About 10 years ago or so I used to see them heading towards the southern Adirondacks very often and a few times , while fishing, saw them flying around the hills up by Hope and Wells in Hamilton county. Probably doing either practice bombing or some low level terrain following training. I have not seen them recently. I think that the ones I saw used to come from some ANG or Reserve base in CT.

My uncle by my father's second marriage was an A-10 pilot with the Boys from Syracuse. He used to fly his approach back to Hancock over my neighborhood. Would always call my dad before he took off and tell him about what time he expected to be over the neighborhood. I'd wait outside for him to fly over the local park. I'd wave, he would wag his wings... When I was 13 that just made my day!

yeah well.. i'll be 23 in a month and it still made my day! we saw a blackhawk today too, cool stuff.
