A dedicated 22lr upper my well be in order.
Is their a decidly better twist rate for using the Colt .22lr conversion kits?
I picked up a flattop with an un-known , but apparently very well made heavy barrel...6 groove, fluted from the front sight forward "looks" like 1/7,or 8 as compaired to a 1/7 Colt H-Bar.
Certainly testing for accuracy goes a long way, altho it never hurts to ask of those who have blazed the trail.

1/16 twist will give you the best accuracy with 22LR.

BTW, this belongs in the AR forum.

Yup, 1/16.  Same twist as on a 10/22.

A good compromise for a rimfire/centerfire convertable barrel is the A1 barrel which uses 1/12 twist.

As stated 1:16, unless you are shooting the Aguila SSS 60g .22
